Christian Pulisic playing for the USMNT

The young American star, Christian Pulisic, joined English Premier League side, Chelsea,  on the 2nd January for a fee of $73million, smashing the record for an American player. Pulisic will return to Dortmund until the end of the season, beginning his Chelsea tenure in the summer of 2019. We decided to sim three seasons of the young American (starting in 2019-20) and here are the results…

The 19-year-old, has a future transfer set for a fee of $73 million and the deal will go through on the 1st July 2019.

Season One (2019-20)

Now aged 20, the American began his first season at the London side in August 2019, under the management of Maurizio Sarri, and Chelsea after finishing 6th last season, will also play in the UEFA Europa League. Due to their poor league position, Sarri was sacked in January and replaced by Leonardo Jardim.

Premier League

Christian Pulisic played 35 games for Chelsea in the Premier League this season, scoring 8 goals, and also laying on 4 assists for his team-mates. Sadly, Pulisic’s performances weren’t enough to secure them a place in the Champions League next season as they finished 5th qualifying for the Europa League instead.

Europa League

Christian Pulisic played 10 games for Chelsea in the Europa League this season, scoring 3 goals, and also laying on 2 assists for his team-mates. Chelsea were knocked out in the Second Knockout Round by Juventus.

Cup Competitions

Christian Pulisic played just 5 games for Chelsea in the domestic cups this season, scoring 2 goals, and also laying on 2 assists for his team-mates. Chelsea only made it to the 4th Round of the FA Cup, following a shock defeat to Championship side, Norwich City. Chelsea did manage to win the Carabao Cup though, following a 2-0 victory over Arsenal in the final at Wembley. Pulisic played the final, but did not score.


Season Two (2020-21)

Pulisic begins his second season in West London, now aged 21, this season under the management of Leonardo Jardim, and they will be playing in the Europa League, alongside the Premier League and the domestic cup competitions.

Premier League

Christian Pulisic started all 38 games for Chelsea in the Premier League this season, scoring 13 goals, and also laying on 11 assists for his team-mates. Following the disappointment of last season, Chelsea managed to break back into the top 4, finishing 4th, thus qualifying for the Champions League next season. Due to his good season, he won the Players’ Young Player award.

Europa League

Christian Pulisic played 13 games for Chelsea in Europa League this season, scoring 3 goals, and also laying on 3 assists for his team-mates. Chelsea fell just short of winning the competition as they finished runners up as they lost the final 2-0 to Everton.

Cup Competitions

Christian Pulisic played just 4 games for Chelsea in the domestic cups this season, scoring 2 goals, and not laying on any assists for his team-mates. Chelsea didn’t win any trophies this season.


Season Three (2021-22)

Following his breakout season last season, will Pulisic be able to keep it up in his third season in the capital? Chelsea will play under the management of Leonardo Jardim for his second full season, and they will play in the Champions League for the first time since the 2017-18 season, alongside the Premier League and both domestic cups.

Premier League

Pulisic played 32 games this season in the Premier League, scoring 7 goals and 4 assists, down from 13 goals and 11 assists. Chelsea didn’t qualify for the Champions League either, finishing 5th.

Champions League

Making his first appearance in the Champions League in a Chelsea shirt, he played 9 games, scoring two goals and also assisting six goals, and Chelsea made it all the way to the Quarter Finals before bowing out to Porto.

Domestic Cups

Following a disappointing Carabao Cup campaign, where they lost to Everton on penalties, cup appearances came few and far between, just making six appearances, with a single goal and two assists to his name. However, Pulisic and Chelsea did reach the FA Cup Final, however they fell at the final hurdle losing 3-1 to Manchester United.


So there we have it. Three seasons simmed, and I’d say he’s been pretty successful. Here’s Pulisic at the still young age of 23…
