The summer always brings fresh new players to the free agency and thus starting the never-ending social media and paper talk. Despite already seeing some interesting names already hit free agency and move on to new clubs there are still hundreds of players yet to find a club, many will attract interest from lots of sides not only around Europe but also across the world. I’ve picked my three favourite players who can be snapped up instantly to discuss their possible destinations.
The 22-year-old midfielder made his debut at Schalke 04 aged 17 and he exploded onto the scene putting in some top quality performances in the Bundesliga.Max has been on the receiving end of chatter since his debut in 2013, The Oberhausen born star has been heavily linked with German giants Bayern Munich and up till late May everyone assumed the young man had completed his deal to join Bayern, However Meyer still to this day is without a club.
The 4 time German international has seen himself linked with many clubs across Europe, besides Bayern Munich the interest has been building for the German man with a host of clubs having him on their radar in most recent times British clubs have been linked. Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool have been heavily linked with the young man and a move to Paris has been briefly mentioned too.
For me, an attractive destination for Max is for him to end up in London with Arsenal, Unai Emery has spoke about his plans to rebuild this Arsenal squad and the need for a creative midfielder to back up Ozil needs to be something that is seriously considered by the Gunners. Max would fit in nicely to an Arsenal side who play sharp and neat football and would also be able to work hand in hand with fellow German has mentioned previously.
Max is put as a Central midfielder as an advanced playmaker but is also more than capable of playing behind the striker in the same role. The free agent’s technique and first touch is impeccable and his passing and dribbling show his pure talent on the ball and he clearly would fit into any side across the globe that you lucky people would be silly to miss the opportunity to sign this amazing man.
Bernard Anício Caldeira Duarte has just left Ukrainian side Shakhtar Donetsk after five years in the Ukrainian Premier League. The former Mineiro winger has recently featured for Brazil but sadly did miss out on the World Cup squad despite being expected to be making his way to Russia.
It was heavily rumoured that the Brazilian man would join West Ham before the Hammers snapped up Andriy Yarmolenko from Dortmund and Felipe Anderson from Lazio. Bernard has been linked with moves to China and with Portuguese side Porto and Sporting Lisbon.
My thinking is that Bernard could join Sporting Lisbon , the Brazilian 25-year-old has been previously linked with Portugal but with Benfica rather than rivals Sporting. Bernard’s possible move to the Portuguese side would fit all parties perfectly, Bernard is needed after plenty of the Sporting CP big names walked out on the club before the World Cup. Bernard’s move to Portugal will also see him return to a country where he can play with and be amongst a host of Brazilian’s in the country as well as speaking his native tongue.
Bernard is a quality winger his dribbling, flair and acceleration is absolutely frightening, his composure and strength could be seen as a weak part of his game however some could argue his strength is irrelevant if his pace could easily see him glide past his marker. Bernard may just fall sly of being at the level of some of the “major clubs” but the next level of clubs will surely be interested clubs like Everton and Lyon and Sporting CP could have a massive boost if they added Bernard to their ranks.
HATEM BEN ARFA:
Hatem Ben Arfa has recently left Paris Saint Germain after joining the club in 2016 after a successful period playing for French side Nice where he bagged 17 goals in just 34 appearances in his one year at the club.
The first obvious rumour that sprang up immediately would have seen Hatem return to England with his former side Newcastle United, The French man was also heavily linked with Leicester City towards the end of last season once it was made clear that Ben Arfa would leave the French champions. In most recent times the trickster hasn’t really been mentioned in the rumour mills which means any move could be a surprise.
The 31-year-old could easily return to Newcastle however I have a funny feeling the French man will end up at either the Chinese Super League or a trip to the middle east. The former Paris man will, I assume, want a hefty wage which will put off many of the clubs around Europe.
Hatem Ben Arfa on a football manager game of mine has moved to the MLS with Columbus Crew, this could also be a likely destination for the attacker as a good life style and a huge guaranteed pay packet which will not be passed up by Ben Arfa.
On Football Manager Hatem Ben Arfa has had a rather quick decrease in ability in recent years, the 30-year-old at the beginning of the game technically isn’t a problem however his mental stats aren’t exactly what you may hope for his concentration and determination are both under 10 whilst his positioning and work rate are atrocious. However his technical abilities are still quite good his dribbling and his technique are still very good. Hatem’s physical’s will quickly slide away and on many saves he retires after the first season. He could be a good signing for many sides at the bottom end of the premier league, sides like Newcastle or Watford could do well with Ben Arfa in the side.
So these are 3 players who I believe may be worth throughout the summer window, Hatem is looking to try to salvage a once promising career by ending his rocky career with a bang, whist for Max and Bernard a chance to write a real legacy could still happen with many years ahead of the pair. Hopefully all three stars will find a place in football and will continue to amaze us all with their talents.
