Cristiano Ronaldo has just completed a transfer to Serie A and world football giants, Juventus.

Cristiano Ronaldo played in 53 competitive matches for Juventus during the 2018/2019 season. He scored 25 times, whilst tallying 10 assists as well.

This was enough for Juventus to win the Italian Super Cup, make the semi-final of the Champions League, finish runners-up in the Italian Cup, and achieve a hard-battled 3rd placed finish in the Serie A. Here’s a summary of each competition.

Cristiano Ronaldo kicked off his Juventus career with an absolute bang! In a 2-1 win over Serie A rivals AC Milan, he scored 2 goals, one in each half to win hopefully his first of many pieces of silverware for Juventus.

Juventus fell one step short of winning the Italian Cup, after losing 2-0 in the final to Inter Milan. Cristiano however did contribute a goal each in matches against Spal and Roma and an assist in the return leg against Roma.
Unfortunately though, the last hurdle was Inter, and Juventus fell short. Inter taking the trophy back home to Milan.

It was a bitter sweet ending for Juventus in the Serie A this season, as they came so close to winning it all, but failed to do so on the final match day. A win over Napoli on match day 38 would have seen Juventus win the 2018/2019 Serie A title on goal difference, but a 2-1 loss sealed the deal for Carlo Ancelotti’s Naples side.

Ronaldo however did have a impressive debut season for Juventus in the Serie A. He scored a total of 16 goals and tallied 3 assists for I Bianconeri (The Black and Whites), whilst primarily playing in a left midfield position.

The highlight of Ronaldo’s season would be a brace against Atalanta on the 18th of February, giving Juventus a 2-1 win in a hard-fought 10 man battle, losing Juan Cuadrado to a red card in the 9th minute.

Ronaldo averaged a rating of 7.57 rating over the 2018/2019 season and was awarded player of the match 3 times.

Group D was a walk in the park for Juventus in the 2018/2019 Champions League campaign. With 6 wins from 6, they topped the group with 18 points. An absolute demolition job of the group shared with AS Monaco, Shakhtar, and Red Bull Salzburg.
Juventus finished with a goal difference of +13, scoring 18 and conceding 5. 4 of those 18 goals came from new signing Cristiano Ronaldo, whilst he also assisted on 2.

Juventus then made it through a 3-2 aggregate win over Paris Saint Germain in the round of 16, but Ronaldo neither scored or assisted on any of the goals.

Juventus were drawn against Bayern Munich in the quarter final. The first leg was played in Germany, and was a 2-2 draw. Cristiano picked up one of the vital away goals.
In the return leg, Juventus stomped Bayern Munch 4-0, with Ronaldo assisting with 2 of the goals to give Juventus a 6-2 aggregate win over Bayern, setting themselves up with a semi-final clash with Chelsea.

This was as far as Juventus could make it in the Champions League though, as they bowed out to Chelsea in the semi-finals. In the first leg, Ronaldo assisted a Blaise Matuidi goal but Cesc Fabregas and Olivier Giroud made sure that Chelsea came away from Turin with 2 vital away goals, and ultimately the win.

Juventus then travelled to London for the 2nd leg, but could only manage a 1-0 win, meaning Chelsea went through to the final on away goals.

Chelsea were eventually beaten 4-3 in the final by Barcelona.

It is safe to say that Cristiano Ronaldo will be a fantastic addition to the Juventus team, and Football Manager has predicted that he play a vital part in Juventus’ future success.
