Brilliant Brighton Season 1 Part 4: I Believe in Miracles!

So last time out we we’re knocked out of the cup by Chelsea, but things were on the up! Ever since I’ve been doing really well, some fantastic results against Everton and Man City! The Man City game was actually incredible, I jumped out of my seat and did a victory lap around my room. Obviously some other results which didn’t quite go my way, notably the West Brom and Leicester games which I feel we could have picked up points in. Also the inclusion of TV Revenue is really helping the clubs finances and I’m hoping that it will give me a nice transfer budget for the summer.

Results

I managed to survive my first 20 games, and the press reckon that Reyes has been a “big signing at £4.7m? Although he’s now worth £8.75m in game and has been a rock at the back of a rather sturdy defense despite our pre-season expectations. Since the 20 game mark we dropped to 10th but I’m still delighted with our first half of our first season. I was quickly offered a new contract which lasts till 2020 which is promising! Hoping to have at least challenged for something by then, Reyes wants me to challenge for a tournament by the end of next year so I’m hoping for a good cup run or something.

How perfect that I have 0 goal difference at the half way mark. Very clean looking table, 7 wins, 5 draws and 7 loses. I’m the most average team in the league! Very surprised by Everton, Tottenham and Liverpools form this season. Both Mauricio Pochettino and Jürgen Klopp were sacked, with Klopp going to Spurs! I’m hoping to easily hit 40 points and survive this season, every time the press ask about a push for the Europa League I say ‘we’ll take each game as it comes’ but I’d always love a surprise in my first season. At the start I would’ve taken anything above 17th but as some big teams have been slipping up its given me a chance to shoot up the table.

League halfway

In January we’ve got a few youngsters coming in on the cheap. You saw José Javier García come in at the end of the last post but I’ve acquired 3 more coming in on the 1st!

Juan

The first is Spanish left back Juan Perez, but is just known as Juan, the 18 year old shows a lot of promise and I’m hoping he’ll grown a lot in our youth academy before either a loan spell or a run in the first team! With good physicals for a pacey wing back I think he shows a lot or promise but needs developing.

Ronnie

Ronnie Halkett joined from Hearts and I’m amazed they let him go! He looks incredible and for 325k I thought it was a steal! His media description is “He could be the next Richard Gough” who was a Scotland captain for a while which is incredibly exciting! Some great physicals and team work, just needs a good tutor and he’ll be insane!

Victor

Victor Gyökeres joined for 950k and has since gone out on loan to AS Saint-Etienne, he’s scored 3 in his first 5 games which is a great start for the youngster. Already a Swedish international, I’m hoping Victor will have a good end to the season and leave me struggling to decide whether to loan him out or use him myself!

I know that the in-game date is 3rd March, I’ve played on a wee bit and forgot to take screenshots as I signed them! Got a youth intake coming in the next episode which I’m always excited for! Hoping to upload this blog more regularly as I’ve just finished my first term at Uni
