Welcome back to Mega Project – and today is the end! Mason has some big news, which you will find out below. Today we hear from the local newspaper and a letter from Mason himself.
BRADSHAW WALKS OUT!
Ards FC, announced, yesterday on the 7th September 2017, just a few games into the 2017-18 season that manager, Mason Bradshaw, had resigned with immediate effect, even though he signed a new deal in July of this year.
An Ards source told me that “the board were shocked”, adding that the board expected Mason to stay at least until the end of the season, “they were aware of some off-field issues regarding Mason’s fiancee, being two months pregnant.”
It is understood that Mr. Bradshaw told the directors at Ards about the pregnancy, as soon as both he, and fiancee Olivia, found out the news in July, after he signed the new contract with Ards.
The board told Bradshaw, that it wasn’t an issue, and that they would happily give him paternity leave when the time came, and it is understood by our source that Mason had no thoughts about leaving Ards – and leaving the game all together. “Mason made it clear to the board, that he didn’t want to leave Ards – but would make a decision in the summer about the future, and the board agreed that they would discuss it later in the season.”
It is currently unknown why the change of heart was made which lead to Mason Bradshaw leaving his role at Ards Football Club, but it has also been announced that both himself, and his fiancee have left their apartment that they rented during their spell in Ireland, and have flown back to Britain.
From all of us here at The Newtownards Gazette wish both Mason, and Olivia, the best of luck in the next chapter in their lives.
A message to his fans:
Mason: I would like to thank all the fans who supported me in my short spell in football. I’m proud to have managed two great clubs in such a short space of time. Whilst I wasn’t the most successful at either club I appreciate the tremendous effort made by the players, background staff and clubs boards.
Special thanks to my friends and family for supporting me through thick and thin.
We would like to thank Mason for his time spent at our club, he’s made a great impact in such a short space of time. He’s been a fan favourite and has had a similar impact on the players. We will all be sad to see him go and wish him the best of luck in the future, whether it’s in the field of football or elsewhere.
