The David And Goliath Challenge – Football Manager

Goliath was a biblical warrior defeated by young David in the Book of Samuel. Goliath was described as ‘six cubits and a span’ (9 ft 9 inches or 2.97 metres).
The phrase ‘David and Goliath’ has taken on a popular meaning, denoting a underdog situation. A contest where a smaller, weaker opponent faces a much bigger, stronger adversary.

Your challenge is to take a weaker/smaller opponent from a city with a bigger/stronger opponent, and try to surpass them.

For example, you could start in the lower leagues of Spain with Real S.D. Alcala and try and remove Real Madrid from their reign.

Or you could try your luck in the lower leagues of Germany and try conquer Munich with SPVGG Unterhaching.

We all love seeing PSG get beaten, so maybe a flight to Paris could be worth it, joining up with Paris FC in a quest to dethrone PSG.

Portugal is a country I haven’t really ventured into on FM, but you could attempt to dismantle Benfica and Sporting CP with someone like 1° Dezembro

To complete the challenge you need to ;

–  Beat the Goliath team at least once
–  Finish higher in the league than them
–  Produce better youth players
–  Win more titles than they have

As always, we’d love to hear how you get on with this challenge! So tweet us screenshots @dictatethegame
